Ajax wint Yourlease Talent Tournament

Ajax legde zondag 11 juni 2023 beslag op het Yourlease Talent Tournament. De Amsterdammers waren in de finale te sterk voor rivaal Feyenoord (3-0). 

Wat genoten veel mensen van het toernooi. Zowel op zaterdag als op zondag kwamen honderden mensen naar de Bosstraat-Oost om de voetballers van de toekomst aan het werk te zien. Het spektakel begon op zaterdagmorgen toen met muziek en zomerse sfeer het toernooi werd geopend. 

De eerste wedstrijd op het hoofdveld was van ons eigen SO Soest tegen Ajax. Het team dat in de competitie als de JO13-1 kampioen werd kon het tempo van de hoofdstedelingen aanvankelijk prima bijhouden, maar toen Ajax na 20 minuten op voorsprong kwam, was het gedaan met het verzet van Soest.

De wedstrijd bleek een voorbode voor meer mooie spektakelstukken op de vier velden van SO Soest, waar de inwendige mens prima versterkt kon worden en het gloednieuwe terras prima dienst deed. 

De (kruis)finales op de zondag waren spannend. Vooral de halve finale tussen AZ en Feyenoord was er een om in te lijsten. Een penaltyserie moest de beslissing brengen en pas na veertien penalty's wist Feyenoord de ploeg uit Alkmaar te verslaan (7-6). 

Blijkbaar was het treffen tegen AZ de Rotterdammers in de benen gaan zitten, want in de eindstrijd tegen Ajax kwam de ploeg net te kort. Ajax won verdiend met 3-0 en won, tot grote vreugde van de meegereisde ouders, het toernooi.

Het succes van het toernooi was natuurlijk fantastisch, maar extra aandacht is er ook voor de voetballers en begeleiders van Dynamo Kiev die de onrustige situatie uit hun door oorlog verscheurd land voor even konden ontvluchten en konden genieten van de zorgeloze sfeer tijdens het toernooi. 

Het was een prachtig evenement waarbij de organisatoren, de vele vrijwilligers en de gastouders een compliment verdienen voor dit succesvolle toernooi.

Ajax wins Yourlease Talent Tournament Sunday, June 11, 2023

Ajax clinched the Yourlease Talent Tournament title on Sunday. The team from Amsterdam proved too strong for their rival Feyenoord in the final, winning 3-0.

Many people enjoyed the tournament, with hundreds of spectators flocking to Bosstraat-Oost on both Saturday and Sunday to witness the football stars of the future in action. The spectacle kicked off on Saturday morning with music and a summery atmosphere marking the tournament's opening.

The first match on the main field featured our very own SO Soest against Ajax. The team that had emerged as champions in the JO13-1 league initially managed to keep up with the pace of the Amsterdam players, but once Ajax took the lead after 20 minutes, Soest's resistance crumbled.

The match proved to be a precursor to more thrilling spectacles on the four fields of SO Soest, where refreshments were readily available, and the brand-new terrace served its purpose perfectly.

The (semi)finals on Sunday were intense, with the semifinal clash between AZ and Feyenoord being one for the books. A penalty shootout had to determine the winner, and it took fourteen penalties before Feyenoord managed to defeat the team from Alkmaar, winning 7-6.

Apparently, the match against AZ had taken its toll on the Rotterdam team, as they fell short in the championship clash against Ajax. Ajax emerged as deserving winners with a 3-0 victory, much to the delight of the parents who had made the trip, securing the tournament victory.

The success of the tournament was undoubtedly fantastic, but there is also special recognition for the footballers and coaches from Dynamo Kiev who were able to briefly escape the tumultuous situation in their war-torn country and enjoy the carefree atmosphere during the tournament.

It was a wonderful event, and the organizers, numerous volunteers, and host families deserve commendation for the success of this tournament.
